And when is Valentine's day, btw? I never remember.

Five things that have made me happy recently:

1. Torchwood 2x01 - Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

2. Playing tennis. Playing tennis well - I've finally got the hang of putting myself in the right position to be albe to hit the ball effectively, which makes everything much easier.

3. Going swimming after tennis.

4. Watching most of Kiss of the Dragon (missed I don't know how much of the beginning), mostly for the sake of having watched at least one Jet Li movie in my life. It was a mixture of sweet and extremely violent, and just the sort of thing to watch when you're half asleep and don't feel like thinking.

5. White chocolate.

Because I can never decide, and there's probably a proper way to do it:

If I want to italicise part of a sentence, and the italics fall at the beginning or end of it, should I italicise the punctuation (speechmarks, fullstop, etc.) as well as the words, or not?

Example sentence:
“Why do you like muffins?” the Doctor demands. Then, “no, no, no, wait. Forget that. What are you up to?”


Also, can anyone point me in the direction of a good site to learn grammar from. Most of what I know at the moment is more instinct than actual fact - I can't even remember the difference between past perfect, past imperfect, and past really really bad - and I'm feeling curious.
